Saint Ignatius of Antioch

The relic of St. Ignatius of Antioch is the main body of the sternum, commonly known as the breastbone. The sternum is found in the center of the chest and connects the ribs. It is shown in red on the image below.

Why is Ignatius important?

Wherever the bishop appears, there let the people be, even as wheresoever Christ Jesus is, there is the Catholic Church.
